Whether you are just starting out, rebranding or launching another new blog, you want a perfect blog name.

I get it, who doesn’t?

The domain name is the first thing associated with your blog. So, you want to make sure that it doesn’t make you look bad.

With that being said, I have to say that the importance of the domain name is still a bit overrated. As long as the name is not horrible, it won’t make that much of a difference.

On the other hand, a good domain will win you some extra hearts.

So, why not?

After all, it’s not as complicated as it might seem and there are a lot of free tools to help you with the ideas as well.

Let me share a few tips for naming your blog:

1. Stick To The Topic

Do you already know what your blog is going to be about? Did you choose your niche?

Your blog is going to be about a certain topic. Ideally, your name should be associated with that topic as well. It will be easier to remember and way more recognizable than a random combination of words.

Trust me… want more free returning visitors? Make sure that your name makes sense.

It doesn’t mean that your name should be packed with the keywords though.

Like for example – This blog is called bloggersplan.com not bloggingforbeginnersarticles.com

You get the point, right?

2. Get Fancy

Just because your blog is about the apple pie recipes doesn’t mean that it should be called applerecipesiwanttoshare.com. Even though it’s straight to the business, It’s boring and makes your blog look boring as well.

Something like Applecious.com sounds way better, doesn’t it?

3. Catchy And Simple

Now just because applepiend.com consists out of your keywords doesn’t mean that it is good.

You don’t need a name which describes everything.

You need something which is “relatable”, catchy but simple to remember.

And once again, namemesh.com should help with the list of ideas.

4. Available

No matter what name you choose, it is pointless unless it is not available.

While there is nothing wrong with the domain endings other than “.com”, you might still want to stick with the basics.

Make sure that your domain name is available and not taken or reserved by anyone by typing it in the section below:

A lot of times people get hyped up before checking out the domain name they came up with.
